Train update - 1 July 2022
Here are some photos of the train from Dave.
Here are some photos of the train from Dave.
When I was walking past Mercadona the other day I spotted that they are opening on Sundays mornings for the summer. Starting this coming Sunday, 3 July 2022.
UPDATED - 11:41 1 July 2022 - apparently it is now parked up in the car park near the nature reserve. Behind the Flamingo chiringuito.
Yesterday afternoon another of our eagle eyed roving reporters, David J, spotted an empty 3 carriage white train going round Dársena 1. It was empty. So no paying customers.
David is speculating that this might be a trial run for the possible restarting of a "train service" in Almerimar.
Our roving reporter Alan S has done it again. This time this is a photo of the inside of the new supermarket, La Cesta En Casa. It opened today.
The supermarket is located in an urbanisation not far from the far end of the Master 3 (Classic) part of the golf course.
UPDATED 1 July 2022 - I think you access the supermarket by turning inland at the Pura Vida restaurant roundabout.
They also specialise in online purchases for home delivery. You can see their website here: https://lacestaencasa.es/en
The article here on the Sur In English site warns of possible calima in the province this coming Friday. I hope not.
The article here on the Ideal site explains that the project to add a 3rd lane on the A7 motorway between Aguadulce and Almería has been approved.
Read More for a Google translation of the article.
Further to the information in the article here about building work in the area (published on 12 June).
Thanks to our roving reporter Alan S (aka GOG = Grumpy Old Git) for these photos. He took them while walking the dog the morning.
If I remember rightly the supermarket should open around the end of this month. So not long now.
UPDATED - the venue for the market has changed from the rugby pitch to Dársena 2.
Many thanks to Irene at the tourist office.
She has sent me details of this event that is taking place in Dársena 2 this coming Saturday (2 July 2022). Hopefully this one will go ahead. The last one was cancelled at short notice due to very windy weather,
Even better she has sent me a link for an English language website with tourist information about Almerimar. You can see it here. The front page of it looks good. I have not has a chance to take a look at it in details yet myself.
