Harry Rose Ceremonies

We have been asked to mention this business by Judi Sheppard as it perhaps involves bringing people to the area.

My name is Judi Sheppard and although I am a resident in the UK , I have a home in Almerimar where I love to spend as much time as possible.  I am an Independent Civil Celebrant (in the UK) and as such I perform and assist in the arrangements of a range of non denominational celebratory services including Weddings, Marriage Vow Renewals and Naming Ceremonies. I have successfully completed training in Marriage and Family Celebrancy and I am a member of the Fellowship of Professional Celebrants.

I have experience working with people in a responsible and professional capacity within the UK and now wish to offer alternative beautiful and meaningful ceremonies to residents in the Almeria region of Spain.

Civil marriage between foreign nationals is not possible in Spain unless at least one party of the marriage has been resident in Spain for a minimum of 2 years. So why not plan to be married in a short simple registry office service elsewhere and then hold a wedding ceremony (celebration) or renewal of vows ceremony and reception in Spain? As the couple would then be declaring their love for each other in front of their nearest and dearest, it doesn’t matter what country they do the legal part in !

People may prefer not to be restricted to a venue licensed for marriages, so doing it this way they can hold their ceremony in a place which is special to them – on a boat, in a garden, on a beach, in a favourite restaurant, in their own home.  All that is needed is ‘imagination’ because I can perform the ceremony just about anywhere. (within reason of course).  You cannot actually marry or hold a civil partnership ceremony in any of these venues but the point is that it is personal and intimate, and exactly as the couple wants. To everybody present it will look and feel like a real wedding with the exchanging of vows and rings, the only difference being that the legal side of things has already been taken care of.

Children and family members can easily be included to take part in the ceremony, making something really unique and special which family and friends will remember forever.
One of the advantages of having such a ceremony is the freedom to choose the wordings and vows, being able to personalise the ceremony and make it a unique experience.  There are no restrictions on time; the ceremony could even take place in the evening.

The Almeria region of Spain can offer some breathtaking settings and venues. Many Spanish venues will now offer a ‘wedding celebration’ where they have outside pergolas, a red carpet and chairs laid out in beautiful style, they will even print the ceremony booklets.

It is important to point out that by Law the couple must have already been legally married before their ‘Special’ wedding ceremony takes place in Spain. After which this ceremony can take place anywhere and at anytime and at a venue of their choice.

The rest of the service, including the exchanging of rings and saying  vows to one another is purely ceremonial and can therefore take place literally ANYWHERE and at any time of the day or night – the only limits being the use of  imagination and the availability of venue.

I can help with individual short ceremonies as part of the overall occasion, where other members of the family can become involved. It will be my pleasure to help plan and be part of the Wedding that people have always dreamed of, with no limits to creativity.

I also perform Baby Naming ceremonies as alternatives to religious christenings or baptism, Renewal of Vows ceremonies for those couples who have been married longer and who want to express their ongoing love for each other maybe in celebration of a special anniversary and also Commitment ceremonies for those couples who still don’t want to ‘take the plunge’ in to marriage but do want to formalise their relationship in the presence of friends and family.

So whatever the occasion, make it special, have the ceremony you always wanted.....
