The City Council of El Ejido continues to take important steps in making the Local Administration increasingly efficient, modern, agile, comfortable and close to the citizen. However, it has been in recent months, due to the pandemic, when efforts have been intensified to facilitate the issuance of digital certificates for citizens so that neighbors can carry out their procedures from home both with the El Ejido City Council, as well as with the rest of the institutions and public bodies.

Along these lines, Callejón has wanted to stress that “since the Virtual Office was launched, there have been more than 14,000 different users between individuals and companies who access it an average of 300 times a day to carry out different procedures ”. To this must be added some 50,000 presentations of different applications and 8,000 payments by electronic means.

It is worth highlighting the payment by credit or debit card of any payment document issued by the City Council, receipt of notifications, presentation to Human Resources selection tests, payment of traffic fines, signing of contracts or obtaining a payment letter without identification, among others.


Within the framework of this objective, the new Cl @ ve personal identification system has already been launched to carry out transactions via telematics through the Virtual Office. It is, as recalled by the Councilor for the Interior Regime, José Cristian Callejón, “an important tool that will allow the user to authenticate before the Public Administrations with all the security guarantees without having to remember different passwords to access the different services ”.

This new tool makes it possible to carry out the same administrative procedures that are carried out through the Digital Certificate, but with the exception that to obtain it it will not be necessary to have any additional electronic device installed.

The Councilor for the Internal Regime, José Cristian Callejón, explained that “it is an accreditation and electronic signature that is very practical and easy to use, since once it is available, any management can be carried out with public administrations by entering only the DNI and the number of the password assigned to it, once the user has requested it ”.

The local responsible has specified that "this new system can be obtained without prior processing, it will only be necessary to present the National Identity Document at the City Council and provide a mobile phone number, since the authentication system it uses is the factor of security in two steps ”.

Once the user has registered in Cl @ ve, there are two possibilities of use, the occasional or Cl @ ve PIN that offers a password system of very limited validity in time, aimed at users who sporadically access the services. Or the permanent Cl @ ve that is valid for a long time, although not unlimited, aimed at regular users. It corresponds to the user and password access system, reinforced with single-use passwords by SMS to the Social Security services. Both keys can be obtained in person at the Town Hall.

Callejón has specified that “it is also possible to issue a secure certificate that enables the Cl @ ve signature of any Cl @ veFirma management. This characteristic allows that with username and password, and a mobile phone to send confirmation SMS, any of the documents that are processed on municipal platforms can be signed with all the guarantees ”.

The local responsible has specified that all these improvements are being developed by the IT team of the City Council, guaranteeing the continuity and homogeneity of the solutions, as well as the support by email and telephone of the same officials who have created the solution giving an answer fast to any incident.

The launch of the Virtual Office in July 2017 and driven by the investments that European funds have fostered, dozens of procedures have been made available through the municipal electronic service portals that make it possible not to travel to the City Council to carry them out.
