There is some advice here from the Andalucian Golf Federation.
Due to this advice we held the FGS prize giving on the terrace of the clubhouse yesterday.
Read More for a Google translation of the notice.
First of all, we must remember that, until now, Andalusia is not a risk area. And that, in addition, practicing the sport of golf involves spending time outdoors, enjoying Nature and breathing fresh air, making it a beneficial and recommended activity, as long as we adopt the hygienic-sanitary measures recommended by the World Organization Health and other health authorities.
Hygienic - sanitary measures recommended
Wash your hands frequently, with soap and water or with an alcohol-based disinfectant gel, which will kill the virus if it is on your hands.
Adopt respiratory hygiene measures. When coughing or sneezing, cover your mouth and nose with your elbow flexed or with a tissue. Throw the tissue away immediately and wash your hands with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer or soap and water. Covering yourself with your hands, you can contaminate people or objects that you touch later.
Maintain at least a meter of social distance between you and other players, especially those who cough, sneeze, or have breathing difficulties. Although the sport of golf has taught us to shake hands with our starting companions at the beginning and end of the round, at this time, we must avoid shaking hands, as it may involve putting our fellow competitor at risk.
If you have a fever, cough and shortness of breath, do not go to the golf course, as we would in any other situation, also if we were not going through this crisis. Get medical advice quickly, as it could be due to a respiratory infection or other serious condition. Call ahead and inform your healthcare provider of any trips you have recently taken or any contact you have had with travelers.
And, above all, since we are facing an exceptional situation and that we are all concerned, containment and individual responsibility to protect the most vulnerable and prevent the collapse of the health system.
Competitions postponed by the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation and by the Royal Spanish Golf Federation in Andalusian territory
The Ministry of Health, the Higher Sports Council and the Sports Council of the Andalusian Government have issued a series of recommendations regarding the incidence of transmission of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) in our country. These recommendations include avoiding trips that are not strictly necessary.
In this sense, - and since, given the extensiveness of the Andalusian geography, the celebration of any competition in our territory implies the displacement of a large part of the participants in it - the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation and the Royal Spanish Federation of Golf have agreed to postpone the following competitions:
• Women's Circuit Thursday - Real Club de Campo de Córdoba
• National Zonal scoring - Villa Nueva Golf
• Pequecircuito - Miguel Ángel Jiménez Golf School and La Garza Sports Park
• International Championship of Andalusia Senior Doubles - Aguilón Golf
• Pequecircuito - La Cartuja Public School
• Championship of Spain Sub 18 Men ¬– Real Club de Campo de Córdoba
• National Senior Men's Score - Real Club Pineda de Sevilla
We will inform you of the new dates scheduled for the celebration of these tournaments as soon as possible. We regret the inconvenience that this may cause and that are totally beyond our control.
Holding club competitions
Both the Royal Spanish Golf Federation and the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation, we have proceeded to cancel upcoming tournaments, this decision has been made to comply with the recommendation of our health authorities to avoid unnecessary travel and travel, and taking into account that the celebration of these official federative competitions would suppose the movement of the federated from one point to another of our Andalusian or national geography.
In the event that a club competition violates this recommendation not to travel, we do recommend that it be suspended or postponed.
In addition, it is in the awards ceremonies where the most careful must be, to avoid crowds.
The Ministry of Health has prohibited the acts of more than 1,000 people. And for those events in which attendance is lower - as is the case of the awards ceremony of social competitions - we must try to hold them outdoors and not occupy more than 1/3 of the total capacity of the venue where it is being held. . In the event that this is not possible, the recommendation would be to postpone delivery.
Thank you very much for your collaboration.
