In Andalusia there are 554 cases and 9 fatalities

Almost two days without the number of positive cases for coronavirus in the province of Almería hinted that the first spike in the virus could be more than significant and it has been so: Almería leaves behind the 14 positives and already has 23 confirmed cases .

This has been detailed today by the Ministry of Health of the Andalusian government, which has just reported the update of coronavirus cases in which, as expressed by the Minister of Health, Salvador Illa, will be the only daily announcement of updated data on contagion across the country.

This latest update of data reveals that in the province of Almería the figure stands at 23, representing an increase of 9 new positives, and an evident jump since last Saturday the figure stagnated at 14 positives.

Andalusia

For its part, the Andalusian community already has 554 infections. Figures to which are added the 9 deceased that the Andalusian region already accumulates.

Municipalities

As for the municipalities, yesterday, the capital Almería and the Poniente were the ones that collected most of the 14 coronavirus positives detected, so far, in the province of Almería. This is revealed by a document to which LA VOZ had access and which details, municipality by municipality, the 14 confirmed cases -until Sunday- in the province.

Of the 14 infections, 50%, that is, 7, have occurred in inhabitants of the capital Almería. A point of geography that is, according to this document, closely followed by Poniente, especially by the populations of El Ejido and Roquetas de Mar, which with 2 and 3 cases are the third municipalities with the most positive detected, 09:00 a.m. yesterday, March 15.

Tests

The new declared cases are pending confirmation from the National Center for Microbiology. Likewise, prevention protocols issued by the Ministry of Health have been activated to determine the possible direct contacts that these patients have had.

The laboratories enabled to receive samples of coronaviruses in Andalusia are those of the hospital complex of Jaén, Virgen Macarena, Hospital de Jerez, Juan Ramón Jiménez, Costa del Sol, Puerta del Mar, San Cecilio, Virgen de las Nieves, Reina Sofía and Virgen del Rocío.
