This is the rolling coronavirus story for Sunday 2 August 2020.
Latest story about cases in the province
Almería adds two new outbreaks of coronavirus in one day with ‘only’ 31 positives
The province continues to lead with 22 admitted patients, four of them in the ICU
Almería has no respite in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic and today, when the new positives for Covid-19 have dropped to 31 in the last 24 hours (there were 84 on the eve), the province registers two new outbreaks in the districts of Almería and Levante, with four and 20 new positives, respectively, which add to the 12 that were this Saturday and which bring the total number of active outbreaks to 71 in all of Andalusia. It should be noted that the Levante outbreak that has two dozen infected is a consequence of the positives made in the Mándala and Moma discotheques in Mojácar.
The data provided this Sunday by the Ministry of Health and Families of the Andalusian Government seemed to bring good news with only 31 positives detected by PCR on the last day (1,314 in total), a figure that does not leave, for the first time in many days, the province of Almería as the first in Andalusia in terms of new cases detected, since Malaga today adds up to fifty of the 183 new infections that have been reported throughout the autonomous community.
But this certain respite is completely broken when attending hospitalized patients, and this Sunday, as if that were not enough, Almería hospitals have again registered two new patients admitted for coronavirus, which currently leaves a total of 20 admissions , four of them in the Intensive Care Unit. This situation again leaves the province of Almería as the one that is suffering the most hospital pressure, since the burden on the hospitals of the Andalusian provinces is as follows: Cádiz (3 hospitalizations and none in the ICU), Córdoba (10 hospitalizations of which 2 in ICU), Granada (10 hospitalizations and none in ICU), Huelva (2 hospitalizations and none in ICU), Jaén (without hospitalizations), Malaga (10 hospitalizations and of which 1 in ICU) and Seville (3 hospitalizations of which 1 in ICU).
As for the number of patients recovered this Sunday, this remains at the same 993 that there was on Saturday, and that is that only one patient has recovered in the whole of Andalusia, specifically, in the province of Córdoba.
For its part, the outbreaks of coronavirus in Almería are already 14 after one with four positives in Almería Norte and another of 20 positives in Levante, a region in which the Junta de Andalucía had to act this week, have been added. to close some nightlife venues whose workers had tested positive.
Thus, the situation of the 14 active outbreaks this Sunday in Almería leaves seven of them in the control phase and seven in investigation. Thus, the two located in the west are in the control phase, with 102 and eight positives; in Levante, with 13 and five positives, and three more outbreaks in Almería, with 38, 8 and 4. For their part, those that remain in the investigation phase are located mainly in the Almería district, which maintains four outbreaks with four, four, five and five positives; Levante, with seven positives and 20 in the one detected today; and Poniente, which maintains an investigation outbreak with four positives.
