More restrictions proposed in Andalucía - beaches and weddings
More restrictions in Andalusia: the Junta reduces beach hours and weddings
Andalusia proposes to close beaches from 9:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. due to Covid-19
The Andalusian Governing Council has agreed on Tuesday a series of measures to stop the expansion in the autonomous community of the coronavirus that causes the Covid-19 disease, including a reduction in the maximum capacity for weddings and similar events, as well as that the open bar is not held, and that the municipalities of coastal municipalities close the beaches to the public between 9:30 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
This has been advanced by the Minister of the Presidency, Public Administration and Interior and spokesman for the Andalusian Government, Elías Bendodo, at the press conference after the Council meeting, in which he appeared alongside the head of Health and Families, Jesús Aguirre .
Bendodo explained that these new measures are taken after the last self-assessment of the coronavirus situation in Andalusia carried out so far by the medical technical committee that advises the Board and that met last week, and in order that "the pandemic evolve in Andalusia better than in the rest of Spain ", as, as he has defended, is happening so far.
Situation of "control"
Along these lines, the spokesman counselor wanted to emphasize that "the situation in Andalusia remains within the margins of control", and although cases are increasing, the community is "well below the Spanish average" in terms of the incidence of the virus it means.
In this sense, he highlighted that, to date, in Andalusia there are 102 PCR-confirmed positives per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days, almost half that in Spain, where the figure of 205 is reached, and although "they have increased hospitalizations, 81% of hospital beds have been freed compared to the peak of the pandemic. "
Regarding the new measures agreed, the counselor of the Presidency has advanced that in the celebration of weddings "or similar" the maximum number of people attending when they are celebrated in outdoor spaces will be reduced from 300 to 150, and from 250 to 100 when in closed spaces. In addition, in these celebrations it will not be possible to have an open bar and "everyone will have to be seated at tables of up to ten people maximum", as well as they will have to finish at 1:00 am at the latest.
Likewise, the Board has agreed that, from now on, for events that gather more than 200 people in closed spaces, or 300 outdoors, "a risk assessment will be needed from now on. of the health authority ", as indicated by Bendodo, who has clarified that this measure affects" cinemas, theaters, festivals, congresses or sporting events ", whose end time may not exceed 1.00 in the morning.
To all this we must also add that "it has been agreed to urge the coastal town councils to take measures to close the beaches between 9:30 pm and 7:00 am," as announced by Bendodo.
