Almería exceeds the number of 600 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic
Five new deaths in one day with 178 positives, 19 hospitalizations and 302 recovered
Almería has surpassed this Thursday the total number of 600 deaths from Covid-19 since the beginning of the health crisis. With the 5 deaths reported by the Junta de Andalucía in the last 24 hours, there are already 601 people who have lost their lives in the province due to the coronavirus.
Regarding new cases, the latest update from the Andalusian Institute of Statistics and Cartography (IECA) shows that 178 positives have been detected in the last 24 hours through PDIA tests (PCR technique or rapid antigen test). A figure that is somewhat better than yesterday, when there were 194 positives, and that maintains the trend that this third wave begins to lose aggressiveness, in terms of infections, in Almería.
With regard to hospitalizations, with information collected until seven in the morning, in the last 24 hours there have been 19 more admissions to hospitals in the province, 6 of them in the Intensive Care Unit.
For its part, the number of people who recover every day from the coronavirus continues to be high: this Thursday there are 302 who have received the epidemiological discharge, which brings to 28,779 those cured since the beginning of the health crisis.
Thus, the active cases of Covid-19 in the province as of February 18 are 14,154: it is the difference between the total number of confirmed cases since the start of the health crisis (43,534) and the difference between the total number of deaths (601 ) and recovered (28,779).
In addition, the cumulative incidence rate continues to decline, which stands in the province at 500.7 cases in the last 14 days per 100,000 inhabitants (on Wednesday it was 544.1). In the capital, this marker is today at 602.0, compared to 684.7 cases per 100,000 inhabitants yesterday. This figure, however, will not allow the city to abandon the perimeter closure, since for that it must lower a rate of 500.
Regarding the total of positives in the community, this Thursday 1,803 cases have been reported in the last 24 hours through PDIA.
By provinces, Malaga has added 435 more cases. Later Cádiz appears with 392; with 349 Seville; Granada with 187; Almería with 178; Jaén with 98 cases in the last 24 hours; Córdoba with 96; and Huelva with 68 positives.
Regarding the deceased, there are 83 more people who have lost their lives in the autonomous community due to Covid-19; At 5 in Almería there are 12 in Cádiz, 11 in Córdoba, 3 in Granada, 6 in Hueva, 8 in Jaén, 25 in Malaga and 13 in Seville.
In the section of recovered, this Thursday there are 2,351 Andalusians plus those who have received the epidemiological discharge.
In total, since the beginning of the health crisis, 468,933 people have contracted the disease in Andalusia, 7,934 have died and 301,615 have recovered.
