Covid: an error leads Almería to its best day of the last eight months
The data on deaths, hospitalized and cured are correct
A computer error has led the province to its best day in the last eight months. And it is that we must go back to the month of July to see a similar number of infections to that communicated this Holy Tuesday by the Institute of Statistics and Cartography of Andalusia (IECA). However, the data reported on March 30 is not correct.
"Due to a system failure, not all new records were generated in the Red Alert database yesterday, so the number of new Covid-19 cases recorded on that date is less than expected. ", sources from the Junta de Andalucía clarify after knowing the figures for this Holy Tuesday, in which the curve collapsed and not only in Almería, it also did so in Andalusia, a community to which 138 new positives were associated today.
If these data are true, the province would suffer a large decrease in the number of infections this Tuesday. It is true that on Tuesdays, as a general trend since fewer tests are done on weekends, fewer cases are reported, but the decline this Tuesday would be more than pronounced.
The latest update of the data by the Andalusian Institute of Statistics and Cartography (IECA) collects, due to an error in the system, that in the last 24 hours the province adds only 8 positives detected through the PDIA tests (antigen test and PCR). This Holy Monday the figure rose to 110 positives.
Five of the seven days of the past week the positives exceeded the red line of one hundred, reaching close to 200 on March 27, with 189.
The peak of the pandemic in Almería continues to be 1,023 new positives detected in 24 hours that were registered on January 23, in the middle of the third wave.
We must move to the month of July to see figures similar to those notified this Tuesday, after the computer error: on the 15th the Andalusian Institute of Statistics and Cartography collects nine positives in the province and seven cases were notified on the day of the 10th. of that same month.
Due to this error, the incidence rate of the last 14 days has dropped in a generalized way in almost all municipalities.
Deceased, hospitalized and cured
Yes, the rest of the data on the evolution of the pandemic are correct, both in Almería and in the rest of the Andalusian community, as reported by the Junta de Andalucía.
Four people die in the last hours in the province. There are already 741 people who have lost their lives since the beginning of the pandemic, last March.
On the other hand, 16 people enter a hospital in Almería this last day and four do so in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
A total of 37,309 people have already defeated the virus, after the Andalusian Institute of Statistics and Cartography reported 288 more cured.
El Ejido now has 290.1 cases (approximately 25 fewer than yesterday) per 100,000 inhabitants based on the 14 day average (red for increase; blue for decrease)
Poniente Region now has 271.4 cases (approximately 29 fewer than yesterday) per 100,000 inhabitants based on the 14 day average (red for increase; blue for decrease)
