Coronavirus infections seem to stabilize in the province. This day, the new positives once again remain below a hundred but, yes, Almería continues to suffer the hardest part of this pandemic, adding two deaths in the last 24 hours.
The latest update of the data on the evolution of the pandemic in the Andalusian community by the Andalusian Institute of Statistics and Cartography (IECA) shows that the province adds in this last day a total of 81 cases detected through the PDIA tests (antigen test and PCR).
A decrease in the number of infections that is also seen in the rest of Andalusia, where 1,012 positives were registered this Tuesday. However, we must bear in mind the so-called 'weekend effect', days in which fewer diagnostic tests are usually performed.
Almería adds two new deaths this Tuesday. Since the start of the pandemic, in March 2020, 809 people with Covid-19 have already lost their lives.
According to data from the IECA, in the last 24 hours the province's hospitals added 21 new admissions, one in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
The number that continues to grow day by day is that of people who have defeated the coronavirus: 276 in this last day. In total, there are already 48,410 people from Almeria who have overcome the disease since March of last year.
As of May 4, the province has a total of 4,191 active cases: it is the result of the difference between the total number of confirmed cases since the beginning of the pandemic (53,410) and the difference between the total number of deaths (809) and of recovered (48,410).
The incidence rate of the last 14 days in the province drops to 195.8 cases per 100,000 inhabitants compared to 219.9 this Monday.
Some values that also fall in the health districts, Almería continues to be the one with the worst situation with 297.9 infections (compared to 329.6 the previous day), Poniente has 147.4 (165.7 was the eastern rate Monday) and that of Levante-Alto Almanzora, the one that is better at the moment, has 75.7 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (yesterday its incidence rate was 95.3).
Despite this drop, the capital of Almería continues to be at extreme risk, exceeding 250 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. Its current incidence is 332.8.
