The province of Almería will continue for another week in Covid alert level 2 while the virus continues to show no symptoms of relaxation in terms of infections and, what is worse, hospitalizations and deaths.
The latest report from the Andalusian Institute of Statistics and Cartography reports a new death and twelve more hospitalizations in the last 24 hours, with two patients requiring admission to the Intensive Care Unit.
As for the cases of Covid-19 detected through PDIA tests (PCR technique or rapid antigen test) there are 320, almost a hundred more than on Wednesday, when 229 were registered. Regarding those recovered, 139 patients have received the epidemiological discharge compared to the 162 who did it yesterday.
The data leave the figure, as of August 12, of 7,267 active coronavirus cases in the province, compared to 5,496 last Monday: active cases come from the difference between the total confirmed cases since the beginning of the pandemic (65,585 ) and the difference between the total number of deaths (867) and those cured (57,451). There are almost a thousand active cases more than seven days ago: last Thursday, August 5, this score was 6,352.
If we look at the accumulated incidence rate, the province is now at 526.1 cases in the last 14 days per 100,000 inhabitants. In Almería capital, this marker is placed at 649.7. By health districts, the incidence is 597.1 in Almería, 384.5 in Levante-Alto Almanzora and 518.2 in Poniente.
El Ejido now has 512.2 cases (approximately 17 more than yesterday) per 100,000 inhabitants based on the 14 day average (red for increase; blue for decrease)
Poniente Region now has 518.2 cases (approximately 1 fewer than yesterday) per 100,000 inhabitants based on the 14 day average (red for increase; blue for decrease)
