This past weekend 5 and 6 March our sailors in the Club Nautico Almerimar Adra moved up to compete in the provincial V, qualifying for the championship of Andalusia.
harsh wind conditions were expected for Saturday and so, with waves of 2 meters and winds up to 30 knots tests were suspended for the day. On Sunday it seemed that everything was going better so we went into the water and started the first and only sleeve that could dispute.
Our Optimist sailors Alvaro Martin Castaneda and Daniel Espejo Garavskaya made a good first beat and took the first mark 1 and 2 respectively in the second beacon positions alternated and for the third beacon Daniel was first and Alvaro fell to 5th place. And in the final beat Daniel misled and left the board favored those who followed behind and the crossing was silent until the ninth place overall and 4th finally leaving the sub-13 category. Alvaro signed a third place overall and in its category sub-16.
Carlos Acosta Enciso also the sub-13 category after a poor start could do little to get into the top places but managed to overcome to be the thirteenth. We also had the addition of two new sailors Garcés and Silvestre Peña Lucia contesting his first race, our young sailors were able to finish the test on a day with wind conditions very difficult for the children.
In the Laser 4.7 category the championship trophy came home from the hands of our sailor Adrian Martin Castañeda, Gonzalo Herrero Blanco brought third place and Jose Antonio Sanchez Arcos in his first race took 4th place.
Congratulations to our champions with each passing day are improving in this complicated sport that is sailing.
