Almost empty UD Almería stadium before the promotion celebrations started

UD Almería held their promotion celebration party in the city of Almería last night. There was an open top bus tour of the city that started at 19:30. The celebrations were due to finish with a ceremony in the football stadium starting at 22:00. In true Spanish tradition the start was delayed around 35 minutes.

Alan and I arrived very early at the staidum. You can see a picture of the almost empty stadium above.

After a long wait the celebrations started. Here is one of the videos of it starting:

There was then an excellent version of the UD Almería anthem sung by Pilar Bogado who is the partner of one of our players Pozo.

After that there was a part of the ceremony that got a bit tedious. With each of the players in the squad being presented individually. The introduction part to this was quite good. The actual player introductions got a bit boring. Here is an example of one of them:

The end of the night was excellent. With a fireworks display and the team doing a lap of honour of the stadium.

Fingers crossed for next season.
